Innovative Technology &
Latest Techniques
CATARACT MD prides itself in providing its patients with only the latest state-of-the-art technology, intraocular lenses and surgical techniques – not found today in most hospitals. Our patients can book their appointments immediately and benefit from the personal approach of our professional team of doctors, in a warm, friendly environment. Our modern facilities and latest techniques ensure minimum discomfort and quicker healing time.
IOL MASTER BIOMETRY TECHNOLOGY
High-precision measurements of lens power
The IOL Master is a device that is used at the pre-operative evaluation to measure the power of the natural lens. This technology provides a more accurate and reliable measure of the lens power than most facilities offer today.
INDUSTRY-LEADING EQUIPMENT
Phacoemulsification - Today's choice for cataract removal
Phacoemulsification is today's preferred form of cataract removal. It is the process during which a small instrument, called a phacoemulsifier, is inserted into a microscopic incision in the cornea of the eye. High frequency sound waves fragment the lens. The lens material is then gently removed from the eye by the same instrument. Our surgeons are trained with the latest techniques using the smallest incisions to maximize visual recovery and speed-up healing.
CATARACT MD only uses state-of-the-art cataract removal technology developed by industry leading companies. Most hospitals cannot offer this variety of advanced technology.
STATE-OF-THE-ART LENSES
Safer, new lens technologies protect retina and improve reading vision
CATARACT MD uses only the most advanced intra-ocular lens materials available today. These lenses filter out harmful ultra violet sun rays protecting the retina from damage and help prevent age-related macular degeneration. Acrylic monofocal intraocular lenses are one of the most popular implanted foldable lenses, with over 7.5 million
implanted worldwide over the last ten years.
Correction of presbyopia now possible!
The correction of presbyopia is also now possible though accommodating, intraocular multifocal lenses which move in a similar fashion as the natural crystalline lens. These state-of-the-art lenses adjust power based on the natural accommodation of the muscles of the eye, improving reading vision. Multifocal IOL’s closely approximate the eye's natural lens and allow patients to see both near and far without glasses. For more information, please consult your doctor.
BIOPTICS™ TECHNOLOGY
"Glasses free" driving!
CATARACT MD's Bioptics procedure combines LASIK with intra-ocular surgery to give the most precise visual result. With Bioptics, glasses will not be required to legally drive.
SAFEST TECHNIQUES
No needles or stitches required… for minimum discomfort and faster recovery
Advanced anaesthesia techniques are performed with no needles, a technique pioneered by CATARACT MD doctors.
Only drops are used to freeze the eye, which provide minimum discomfort, greater safety and faster recovery.
